Henrik Bachér appointed as Finnish Marine Industries’ Acting Secretary General

Secretary General Elina Vähäheikkilä will take maternity leave in August. 

Finnish Marine Industries, part of the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries, has appointed MSc, Naval Architecture Henrik Bachér (63) as Acting Secretary General. The present Secretary General Elina Vähäheikkilä will take a maternity leave of approximately one year until 14.8.2018. Bachér will start in his new post 15.8.2018.

Graduated as Naval Architect, Henrik Bachér has achieved a long work experience within the industry. Before the appointment, Bachér worked for Elomatic, one of the association’s member companies, as the Director for Marine Business and the Helsinki office.

Previously, Bachér has worked for Royal Caribbean Cruises as the Director for Quality and Development. In addition, he was the Technical Director and Director for Environmental matters for Silja Line.

”Henrik is an experienced professional of the marine industry, on who we may count on to promote and strengthen the sector during Elina’s maternity leave”, says Patrik Rautaheimo, Chairman of the Board of Finnish Marine Industries. “The association’s work has an essential role in the sector’s success. The operational environment nationally and globally should enable competitive operations for marine industry companies.”
