In December 2019, European Commission published the European Green Deal – an ambitious growth strategy which sets out a plan for an economy-wide transition which will enable Europe to achieve climate neutrality by the year 2050. Among other measures, the Green Deal strives to increase the EU’s greenhouse gas emission reductions target and to introduce more stringent air quality standards. Transportation sector, which accounts for a quarter of the EU’s total greenhouse gas emissions, is expected to achieve a 90% reduction in transport emissions by the year 2050.

To learn more about the European Green Deal’s implications for the maritime industry, ECOPRODIGI invites interested stakeholders to take part in the European Green Deal: Setting the Course for Sustainable Maritime Industry webinar organised online on Friday, the 13th of November 2020.

The event addresses topics such as:

  • The European Green Deal – implications for maritime industry
  • The role of digital tools and solutions in increasing eco-efficiency in vessel performance, cargo stowage and shipyard processes
  • Policy measures needed to support prosperous and sustainable development in maritime industry
