NIT Naval Interior Team won The Sustainability Award in London

NIT Naval Interior Team won The Sustainability Award during the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo in London on November 30th. NIT was nominated for the CSI Awards finals with Carbon Footprint Calculation service, which was voted as the winner by the public.

Carbon Footprint Calculation is a remarkable, first-of-its-kind service for calculating the environmental impact of ship interiors. It enables to identify the factors with the most significant carbon footprint and to research alternative materials, helping customers to reduce emissions.

“This award is not only for NIT’s success but for the whole shipbuilding industry. I’m happy to see how the awareness of sustainability has risen remarkably in recent years, “says Sebastian Lagerlöf, Managing Director. “We all need to become green and more sustainable, and we are happy to help reach it.“

Cruise Ship Interiors Expo is an international exhibition for the cruise ship industry taking place yearly at London ExCel in late November. The trade show culminates in the CSI Awards with different categories for design studios, cruise lines and suppliers.

The Sustainability Award is a significant tribute to the pioneers of greener shipbuilding. NIT’s Carbon Footprint Calculation connects industry stakeholders and fosters collaboration for the common goal of reducing carbon emissions.
